About
I design and run kettle tests that quantify temperature accuracy, overshoot, recovery time, noise, and energy per liter, then turn the data into clear picks.
Core Beliefs
Measurement is the foundation of flavor; control upstream protects the cup.
Background
In a cramped sublet, I calibrated three thermocouples against a rolling boil and logged overshoot on a so-called precision kettle. It routinely spiked 3°C past setpoint, then hunted back. That graph convinced me: without numbers, 'precision' is decoration. Since then, sensors travel before any kettle does.
Perspective
I favor kettles with verifiable thermal accuracy and stable control loops.
